Scope variables
What changes an AC repair quote?
- The failed component and why it failed
- Equipment age, condition, model, and parts availability
- Access to indoor, outdoor, attic, or rooftop equipment
- Electrical, drainage, airflow, duct, or refrigerant findings
- Whether related damage or code work is discovered
Ask what the diagnosis supports.
A clear explanation should connect measurements and observed condition to the recommendation. Ask what failed, what caused it, what work is included, and whether other practical options exist.
Replacement is not automatically the answer.
Repair history, system age, efficiency, comfort performance, major-component condition, and the total scope all matter. A single symptom should not decide the entire system's future.
