Signal checklist
What is the system doing?
- Air is warm, weak, uneven, or absent
- The outdoor unit is silent, noisy, or starts and stops
- The thermostat display is blank or differs from room temperature
- A breaker trips again after one reset
- Ice, water, odor, or a new mechanical sound appears
One breaker reset is enough.
If a breaker trips again, leave it off and call. Repeated resetting can add risk and will not correct the underlying electrical or mechanical fault.
Diagnosis should come before parts.
Airflow restrictions, controls, capacitors, motors, drainage, electrical faults, refrigerant-circuit issues, and duct losses can create overlapping symptoms. Measurements and observations determine the right direction.
